Ibis is a multi-disciplinary surveying practice acting for developers, housebuilders, housing associations, local authorities, banks, commercial clients, managing agents and private individuals. A large proportion of our work is on newbuild housing projects including landmark schemes in London and due to a number of secured appointments we have an immediate need for individuals with contract administration/ Employer’s Agent experience.

Individuals are also sought who can help us expand our offering in sectors including office, retail, education etc.

Job Title:

Chartered Quantity Surveyor

Salary (depending on experience):

£35,000 – £45,000

Job Location:

Office is based in Henley on Thames but the job requires travel across the south of England.

Responsible to:

Directors

Principle tasks:

  • Assisting in establishing a client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies;
  • Advising on procurement strategy;
  • Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks;
  • Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client;
  • Preparing and analysing costings for tenders;
  • Contract Administrator/ Employer’s Agent on development projects, planned maintenance works etc.
  • Undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work;
  • Performing risk, value management and cost control;
  • Providing advice on contractual claims;
  • Valuing completed work and arranging payments;
  • Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use;
  • Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.

Career Progression:

The successful individual will be given the opportunity to become involved in the development of the business and the marketing of the company. Commission for securing new work will be available to those interested in moving in this direction.

There will be the option of progressing to become a head of department for the right individual.

Education required:

  • MRICS
  • Degree qualified
  • Masters beneficial but not essential
