Graduate Building Surveyor
Ibis is a multi-disciplinary chartered surveying practice acting for developers, housebuilders, housing associations, local authorities, banks, commercial clients, managing agents and private individuals. We handle building and quantity surveying jobs that range from the design and project management of large, multi-million pound structures to adaptations and repairs of existing premises.
We are looking for a graduate Surveyor, with an ambitious and entrepreneurial approach to work, to join us and service the needs of our existing clients. You will have direct access to and training from company directors, and also start meeting clients immediately.
You will be encouraged and assisted to become a chartered surveyor, with your area of specialism being autonomously determined by you.

- Contract Administrator/Employer’s Agent on development projects, planned maintenance works etc.
- Building Surveys and homebuyer reports

Specific Tasks undertaken by Ibis Surveyors
Contract Administration for planned maintenance works on existing buildings with a contract value of up circa 300-400K
- Preparation of contract documentation
- Contractor selection and appointment
- Ensuring funding conditions are achieved
Employer’s Agent role for new-build projects with a development cost of 450K-35million
- Acting as client representative with contractors and design/development consultants
- Immersing yourself in every aspect of development activity on the site and acting as advisor to the client offering a positive influence and guidance
- Raising, discussing, and advising on matters of concern with the client to reach efficient and effective solutions
Building Surveying on a single dwelling or a large number of flats, a shop or a multiple-office block
- Taking instruction and fee quote for service
- Undertaking site survey and issue report to client
Project Monitoring for funders on 8000+ sq ft developments with build cost of circa £5million
- Carrying out initial appraisal of a project and issuing report to client after visiting site and liaising with borrower
- Undertaking periodic (usually monthly) inspections
- Identifying new client opportunities
Part Wall etc. Act
- Acting as Building Owner and Adjoining Owner’s surveyor
- Growing service line by increasing number of appointments and turnover
